Chris Brown and Mark Hunter, leaders in the HR and Insurance industries, have teamed up to offer much-needed resources to Insurance Agents. Risk Advisor Academy provides the resources, training, and support to help Insurance Agents across the United States improve service and win more business.
Christopher Brown, SPHR, MBA
Chris is the founder of HR Pros, a firm that provides elastic on-demand HR services to companies in the US and abroad. Over the past fifteen years he has trained thousands of insurance agents, consultants, managers and HR generalists while supporting hundreds of companies on complex HR, benefits and regulatory compliance issues. Chris focuses on limiting employer liability through compliance with relevant employment laws, the development and implementation of effective policies and ongoing reinforcement of best practices through supervisor and employee training. Chris travels in excess of 100,000 miles a year supporting clients in North America, Europe and Asia.
Chris earned both his BA and MBA from the University of South Florida where he graduated summa cum laude. Chris has been certified by the HR Certification Institute (HRCI) as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR), which is the senior-most human resources certification for those who have demonstrated a strategic mastery of the HR body of knowledge.
Mark R. Hunter, CRIS
Mark started his career in the insurance industry as an independent agent in 1990. In 1994 he developed the first commercial association program for a large, regional insurance carrier who has used that same model to develop thousands of association programs throughout the United States. Mark started his own agency in 1995 and developed a pay-as-you-go workers’ compensation insurance programs for the largest payroll company in the world (ADP). After selling his business to ADP, he co-founded another P&C and Health insurance agency in Salt Lake City. During this time, Mark personally built a $1m revenue book of business using techniques that he now teaches to other agents. Mark continues to run a successful insurance agency, and manage his own book of business. In 2014 he co-founded a set of software companies (GotMyCerts, GotMyContracts, GotMySafety, GotMyHR) dedicated to offering risk management services to its subscribers. Over the years Mark has conducted hundreds of seminars and has trained thousands of companies on risk management and risk transfer concepts.
On a personal note, Mark enjoys college football, wake boarding, road biking, and traveling with his family. Mark has been married to his wife since 1990, and has three children.
